🚀 Nvidia expands to the Middle East
Our Report: Nvidia has signed a deal with Qatari telecoms group Ooredoo to deploy its AI technology in data centers across five Middle Eastern countries, marking Nvidia's first large-scale launch in the region despite U.S. export restrictions.

The agreement will make Ooredoo the first company in the region to allow direct access to Nvidia's AI and graphics processing technology in data centers located in Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, and the Maldives.
Ooredoo CEO Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo stated that their "B2B clients... will have access to services that probably their competitors (won't) for another 18 to 24 months."
The deal was signed on June 19, 2024, at the TM Forum in Copenhagen, though the exact value and specific Nvidia technology to be installed were not disclosed.
Ooredoo is investing $1B to boost its regional data centre capacity by 20-25 additional megawatts, with plans to nearly triple capacity by the decade's end.
