Read Time: 4 minutes

Our Report: Google is testing out an AI tool—Genesis—that can write news articles by absorbing information & details on current events before producing original articles.

🔑 Key Points:

  • Google is testing Genesis currently & pitched it as a product to The New York Times.

  • Google is not the only company working on AI-generated news articles. Other companies, such as Microsoft and OpenAI, are also developing similar technologies.

  • AI-generated news articles have the potential to revolutionize the way news is produced and consumed. However, there are also some concerns about the potential for bias and misinformation in AI-generated content.

🤨 Why you should care:

AI-generated news articles can make news more accessible and affordable (no more pesky paywalled articles), although there’s also huge potential for bias and misinformation in AI-generated content.

P.S. KPMG estimates that 43% of a journalists role could be automated with AI
